SSE Airtricity's announced price hikes from May 1st.
Its electricity prices will go up by 24%, while the cost of gas will rise by 32.3%.
The company is blaming sustained increases in wholesale energy costs for the rise in prices.
It follows rises in recent weeks of Electric Ireland, Bord Gáis and Energia.
Speaking after the latest price rise, Darragh Cassidy of Bonkers.ie said:
“Today’s news was expected unfortunately given all the recent price increases that we’ve seen.
"The small comfort is that the increase doesn’t come into effect until May when hopefully it’ll be far warmer.
"But households will just be faced with astronomical bills next winter.
“To say these are unprecedented times for the energy sector is an understatement.
"More price hikes from suppliers later in the year can’t be ruled out."
A €200 energy credit will be given to each household from this month to help ease the rising in the cost of electricty.
