Snow and sleet are forecast for parts of the north and west of the country this week.
Met Éireann has issued a winter weather advisory for the entire country as an Arctic airmass is due.
The cold weather is due to bring sharp to severe frost and icy stretches on roads.
Showers of hail, sleet and snow are also expected in the second half of the week.
