A 22 year-old man's been arrested after six people were killed in a shooting at an Independence Day parade in Chicago.
More than 30 are thought to have been seriously injured.
A gunman opened fire from a rooftop using a high-powered rifle which was recovered at the scene.
It has renewed calls across the US for an end to gun violence.
"Senseless gun violence is a national epidemic and has no place anywhere so we must keep fighting to end it," says Chicago Police Superintendent David O. Brown in a tweet.
