The Irish Farmers' Association is warning of a shortage of some fruits and vegetables this summer.
The IFA says some growers cutting back on production as costs rise, with some farmers reporting a five-fold rise in energy bills.
The group some growers had to decrease the temperature in their glasshouses, causing production delays - tomatoes were among the worst affected produce.
It's believed that harvests were down by a quarter in April - when they should have been at their peak.
