The President of the Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors says he hopes relations with the Justice Minister won't be further strained.
It comes after Alan Shatter declined an invitation to address the AGSI annual conference - which is getting underway in Killarney in Co Kerry.
Minister Shatter down turned the invite from middle ranking Gardai due to the Jewish Passover and a meeting of EU Defence Ministers in Luxembourg.
Tim Galvin says it's a very disappointing decision - given that the conference is his only opportunity to directly address sergeants and inspectors:
