Atomic scientists will meet later today to announce the new time on the Doomsday Clock - a measure of how close they believe humanity is to being wiped out.
Former President Mary Robinson, will be among the speakers at the event to announce whether the time on the iconic Doomsday Clock will change.
The former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and Chair, The Elders is taking part in a live virtual news conference led by the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists.

The clock was originally created in 1947 by a group of experts including Albert Einstein, who set the timer at seven minutes to midnight.
By last year it had ticked forward and now shows just 100 seconds remaining.
