Schools will need to log bullying to a national database.
It's part of a new anti-bullying strategy - where teachers will also get more training to help deal with the issue.
Education Minister Norma Foley has said she hopes the database will help reduce cases.
Minister for Education, Norma Foley, believes it will give useful insights into children's behaviour:
"I think we have relied for far too long on anecdotal evidence, on hearsay - no concrete database.
"I've long been a believer that if we do not know what the issue is we will not be able to tackle it.
"This national database is a new initiative, it's an innovative one and will give us a clearer picture of issues on the ground."
