Over 50 products including hand sanitiser, wipes and antibacterial soap approved for schools have to be withdrawn due to safety concerns.
Officials at the Department of Agriculture discovered there are products on the Irish market that aren't properly registered for safety.
It's after a review was carried out following the ViraPro controversy.
The Department of Education says its suppliers have enough replacement stock to get out to schools in time to reopen on Monday.
