It comes just four years after Westminster legalised abortion in the North.
The new law was passed last year in Stormont to protect women and girls accessing abortion services, information, advice and counselling.
From today it's illegal for members of the public to record, influence or harass service users within 100 to 250 metres from the site.
Public signage will highlight the legal requirements at each zone and the PSNI says it will make arrests if it's alerted to a breach.
