RTÉ Reports €9 Million Loss
RTÉ has announced a net deficit of €9.1 million for last year.
It's blamed the result on a decline in TV licence revenue, along with an increase in operating costs, and the broadcast of a number of special events.
RTÉ's Director General, Kevin Bakhurst, says the broadcaster remains committed to addressing key issues within the organisation.
He also says they are grateful for the multi-annual government funding which will enable it to plan for the future.
In a statement, the DG said 2023 was a difficult year for all in RTE and those who placed their trust in the organisation.
