The head of RTE will call for an increase in public funding when she appears before an Oireachtas Committee later.
Dee Forbes will outline how license fee evasion and "no-home TVs" are contributing to an annual loss in funding of €65 million.
RTÉ reports that 15.2 percent of homes didn't pay in 2020 and the number of households claiming to have no TVs is currently at 15.1 percent.
Ms Forbes also give an update on plans to shake-up the State broadcasters pay grades and structures.
Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, Sinn Fein's Brian Stanley said he'd be opposed to an increase in the license fee.
But he says a better collection system is needed.
Deputy Stanley said the committee will need to know how the state broadcaster will get itself into a "financially sustainable position".
