The roadmap for easing covid-19 restrictions will be published on August 31st.
However, it's unlikely there will be any further significant easing of restrictions until towards the end of September.
The Taoiseach says the reason for that is the peak of the current wave of Covid is not expected to hit until towards the end of September.
He said he understands the frustration for sectors like live events that haven't been able to open yet.
Meanwhile, the lead singer of Aslan feels the government has treated the live events sector 'disgracefully' throughout the pandemic.
Christy Dignam says the lack of clarity over the resumption of live events is 'making it impossible' for musicians to survive.
