Rishi Sunak is expected to be confirmed as the new leader of the Conservative Party and British prime minister later today.
Former prime minister Boris Johnson pulled out last night, leaving only Rishi Sunak and Penny Mordaunt in the race.
Candidates need the support of 100 of the party's 357 MP to stand in the first ballot.
Sunak will be confirmed as the winner if he's the only candidate with enough backers by 2 o'clock this afternoon. It's reported Penny Mordaunt, is well short of the 100 MP target.
