The result of a ballot of 170 Irish-based pilots at Ryanair is due to be revealed today.
They're expected to join their colleagues in Britain in voting for strike action, after the airline announced plans for up to 900 job cuts.
It could result in thousands of people having their flights cancelled.
Aviation Journalist Gerry Byrne believes Irish pilots will vote to down tools in their dispute over pay, "all the indications are there will be support for strike action its seems to be the trend. The UK pilots recently voted for strike action and there have been other pieces of industrial action. There appears to be a dissatisfaction among Ryanair pilots, now Ryanair would disagree with this of course, that Ryanair is not playing ball as it were."
