Ministers have approved restrictions on the sale and advertising of vapes.
They will be banned from self-service vending machines, and at events which are organised for children, if the Oireachtas pass the legislation.
Adverts for the products won't be allowed on public transport, in cinemas or near schools.
This bill already aims to ban the sale of the products to those under the age of 18.
It has now been approved by Ministers, which means it will now go TDs and Senators in the Oireachtas for approval.
The legislation is expected to be finalised by the end of the year.
