The chair of the Oireachtas Media Committee says there was a disturbing lack of oversight from the board regarding the failed musical production.
A Grant Thornton report into the show is due to be released today.
Media Minister Catherine Martin has received a copy of the report, and says she'll consider it over the coming days.
The event, which was staged in Dublin's Convention Centre in December 2022, incurred losses of €2.2 million.
It was reported yesterday that there was no written record of the RTÉ Board ever granting its approval.
The show sold just over eleven thousand tickets - a further nine thousand tickets were given out for free and to competition winners. Ticket sales of 90-thousand were initially projected.
Chair of the Oireachtas Media Committee, Niamh Smyth, says it was a huge disaster for RTE:
"That I suppose lack from the board, whether it was information or a sort of a complacency that had set in that there was no sort of rigorous question of the financial plan.
"The bottom line is what counts here and they had massive losses. It was never a money-making operations in the first place."
