Private Sean Rooney's remains are being repatriated home to Ireland this afternoon.
A UN ceremony is being held to honour Private Rooney at Beirut Airport, prior to his departure, at 2pm Irish time on board an Irish Air Corps CASA aircraft.
His body is being flown to Dublin's Casement Aerodrome at Baldonnel, where his remains will be reunited with his family tomorrow.

24 year old Private Rooney was killed in an attack on Wednesday in which three of his colleagues were also injured.

Two of his colleagues have been treated for their injuries and are now safely back to Camp Shamrock.
