A record 12,441 people are registered as homeless in Ireland.
The figures for May have been released by the Department of Housing and is a 1.4% increase on the previous month.
It is 20% higher than May in 2022.
Dublin has the highest number of people registered as homeless at 9,160, including 2,802 children.
Nationally there are 3,699 children growing up in B&Bs, hotels, and temporary accommodation.
The figure doesn't include asylum seekers, refugees, women in refuge centres and the so-called hidden homeless.
Housing and homeless charities have responded saying the figures are disappointing.
DePaul say much more work is needed to "end the cycle of emergency housing support.
While, CEO of the Peter McVerry Trust Francis Doherty said, "we badly need to turn the corner and get the number of people in homelessness down and keep it going on a downward trajectory."
