The Dáil members bar was closed for more than an hour this afternoon because of a rat.
The rodent was spotted in the private bar that's reserved for TDs and Senators.
Oireachtas members were asked to leave while staff dealt with the parliamentary invader.
One TD present said he wasn't overly concerned, as long as the thing didn't run across his plate.
