Gardai in Dublin are investigating the armed robbery of a cash in transit van in Tyrrelstown this afternoon.
The incident happened at around 3 o'clock when two men approached a security man who was delivering money and demanded cash.
It's believed one of the suspects was carrying a fire-arm.
The raiders made off with a significant amount of cash.
No one was injured during the incident.
Gardai say the suspects made their getaway in "a blue coloured" car. The vehicle was later found burnt out in Hollystown.
No arrests have been made.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, or anyone who may have seen the getaway car to come forward.
