Workers are set to be hit with a series of PRSI increases over the next five years.
The Government's rationale for the hikes is to have more money available for a new system of higher payments for people who become unemployed, and to keep the State pension age at 66. Employees, employers and the self-employed will all have to pay more towards PRSI.
The increases will see around an additional €46 euro come out of the average worker's pay packet every year.
PRSI will rise 0.1% next October and the year after that.
It will increase by 0.15 per cent in 2026 and 2027, and by 0.2% in 2028.
