Several hundred people have gathered outside Leinster House this lunchtime as part of a day-long protest.
Various groups are holding what they call a 'Dáil lock-out' - hoping to stop politicians from returning to work this afternoon.
In a statement, the group claiming to be behind the protest say the government has "a complete lack of respect for the Irish people" and planned to use the protest to "demand members of the Oiréachtas honour the wishes of those who employ them".
Access to the Kildare Street entrance of the Leinster House complex has been severely curtailed, and Molesworth Street is closed to traffic.
