The Health Minister says proposals to tackle the issue of cocaine use will be brought to government in the coming weeks.
Simon Harris says more needs to be done to make people aware of the risks of the drug.
It's after the Chief Superintendent of the Louth division said the country is loaded with the drug.
Christy Mangan warned that cocaine knows no social divide and wants it to be tackled as a national health problem.
Speaking this morning, Health minister Simon Harris says the government is working on this.
He said "My colleague Minister Catherine Byrne is leading an initiative in relation to this. She'll be bringing forward a number of proposals to government in the coming weeks."
