The President of the European Commission says the UK has not presented them with any legally operable solutions to replace the backstop.
Jean Claude Juncker and Boris Johnson met for lunch in Luxembourg to discuss the ongoing talks to reach a deal on Brexit.
The British Prime Minister was met with boos and chants of "go home Boris" and "stop Brexit" as he emerged from the meeting.
Afterward, Juncker said it's the UK's job to come up with legally operable alternatives to the backstop if they want it removed from the withdrawal agreement.
He added that so far they haven't presented anything workable.
Juncker also said the EU27 countries remain united on this and the Commission is available for talks 24/7.
Downing St has described the meeting as constructive and said Mr. Johnson is determined to reach a deal without the backstop.
