A prisoner, who was seriously injured during an incident at Mountjoy jail in Dublin last week, has died.
The man, who was in his 30s, was taken to the Mater Hospital for treatment following the assault on Friday evening.
The Irish Prison Service can confirm that the prisoner who was seriously injured in an incident in Mountjoy Prison on Friday 29th July 2022 has died.

It's believed the man was being treated in intensive care before passing away in the early hours of this morning.
