President Michael D. Higgins has signed new indoor dining legislation into law.
It means that only those who are fully vaccinated against covid-19 or those who have recovered from the virus and their children can access indoor dining.
Pubs and restaurants are set to welcome guests inside their premises from Monday.
In the meantime, an app is being developed to allow them to check customers' Digital Covid Certs upon entry.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin admitted earlier today that there are risks involved with the reopening.
He said, "every setting now has risks attached to it - indoor, outdoor - it really is back to personal behaviour".
