A nursing home in Portlaoise Co. Laois is currently dealing with 31 confirmed cases of covid-19.
Kilminchy Lodge Nursing Home says 21 of these cases relate to residents.
In a statement released this afternoon, Kilminchy Lodge Nursing Home the first of these cases were confirmed towards the end of last week.
All of the affected residents are now isolating in their rooms.
The nursing home has a maximum occupancy of 52 residents.
All families have been contacted over the past 24 hours and have been given status updates on the health, welfare and care of their relative.
Meanwhile, 10 of its staff members have also tested positive.
Kilminchy Lodge Nursing Home says it remains fully operational but is closed to visitor and non-essential visitors in line with Level 3 government restrictions.
