Ceremonies are taking place today to mark the 50th anniversary of John F Kennedy's death.
The 35th American President was assassinated on this day in 1963 at the age of 46.
The Tanaiste laid a wreath on behalf of the Government at an event in the US Embassy this morning.
Ceremonies are also being held in JFK's ancestral homes in New Ross in Co Wexford and in Bruff in Co Limerick.
