The price of petrol and diesel is set to rise again from tonight.
Government excise duties, which were cut as part of measures to combat the cost-of-living crisis, will be reinstated on a phased basis.
From midnight tonight, petrol will increase by 6 cent a litre and the price of diesel will increase by 5 cent a litre.
AA Ireland, says the previously reduced rates of excise on petrol and diesel will increase in three stages over the coming months.
Further fuel price increases will be seen from the 1st of September as petrol will increase by 7 cents a litre, and by 5 cents for diesel.
The Government is due to fully restore excise rates on the 31st of October, with a final increase of 8 cents for petrol and 6 cents for diesel.
