Penneys is to start shopping by appointment services next month.
The store hopes to have it in place ahead of its full reopening on May 17th.
It says the service will be a temporary measure that will be up and running in the week prior to full reopening.
Appointments will be available at all of its Irish stores.
In a statement, the retailer says it is delighted to begin preparations to welcome customers back to its stores.
Penneys insists the shopping by appointment service has already worked successfully in its other EU stores.
It has started working through the logistics of running the service.
