Penneys will introduce an autism-friendly shopping hour at all of its stores on Sundays.
The first hour of stores opening will a dedicated "Sensory Friendly Shopping Hour".

Music will be turned off, tills will be silenced and there'll be no in-store announcements, in an effort to reduce noise for shoppers.

Digital store map and visual guides will be available to prepare people for their visit and help identify how they can navigate through the store when they arrive.

Customers will also be able to easily access these online supports through QR codes placed in-store.
The initiative is in partnership with autism charity As I Am.
