A pedestrian has died after being struck by a car overnight in County Meath.
The man, who was in his 40s, was injured on Castle Street in Trim shortly before one o'clock this morning.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to Our Ladys Hospital in Navan.
A second man, in his 20Â’s, was also struck by the car and has been taken to Our Ladys Hospital Drogheda - his injuroies are described as serious.
The driver of the car was uninjured.
This road is currently closed pending a forensic exam and diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
