A man has died after being knocked down in Co Tipperary this morning.
He was hit by a van in the Coolkennedy area of Thurles at about 3am.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the crash, which took place on the N62 between Horse and Jockey and Thurles.
The pedestrian - aged in his 30s - was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
His body was removed to the mortuary in University Hospital Limerick for a post-mortem examination.
The driver of the van wasn't injured and he was the only person in the vehicle.
The road has since reopened, and gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
