Overcrowding an issue of 'comfort' not 'safety'

Irish Rail says the rise in overcrowding on trains is one of comfort and not safety.

Commuters on Intercity, urban and suburban routes have been complaining about increased crowding in recent months - blaming the issue on a cut in carriages and frequency.

The Railway Safety Commission says it's increasing the number of inspections on trains due to the rise in complaints.
