Around 400 people took to the streets of Galway City this afternoon to call for safer cycling infrastructure.
The Community Cycle event comes as many local Councillors are believed to be considering a U turn on the Salthill program.
This would see a temporary route installed along the promenade for six months, essentially to see how it goes.
All but one member voted in favour of the project last September.
That temporary cycleway is back on the agenda at a meeting tomorrow.
Campaigners are worried that plan could be sunk.
400 people turned out to Salthill today to call for safe cycling infrastructure.
The issue is back before the City Council tomorrow afternoon.

Trial Should Go Ahead
Galway Cycling Campaign Deputy Chair Martina Callanan says the hundreds of people who turned up today made their feelings clear that should not happen:
"Four hundred people here, twice the size of our biggest ever community cycle."
"It happened before the vote took place last year."
"The city councillors [then] decided that could be a good thing to do."
"It’ll improve road safety, take action on climate and it’ll keep our children safe."
