The number of people in hospital with Covid-19 surpassed 1,000 for the first time since February 2021.
1,063 people are in hospital with Covid-19, up from 984 yesterday.
The HSE says 89 of those are in ICU, with 9 people admitted in the last 24 hours and 2 people discharged.

HSE CEO Paul Reid says 51 pc of those in ICU with Covid-19 are unvaccinated.
"Look at the vaccinated population over the age of 18, there's only around 5.5% which have not had their vaccines.
"From a 5.5% [of the] population [making up] over 50% in ICU is striking."
The number of booster vaccines administered is expected to surpass 2.4 million today
