The first named storm of this winter season, Storm Ashley, is due to arrive on Sunday
Met Éireann has issued an orange warning for wind for counties Galway and Mayo from 12 noon until 9 pm on Sunday.
A status yellow warning for wind has been issued for the whole country, and will be in effect from 10 am until midnight on Sunday.

A weather advisory is currently in place until midnight on Saturday, with warnings of possible coastal flooding, due to exceptionally high supermoon spring tides.
On Sunday the country is braced for, large coastal waves, difficult driving and cycling conditions, as well as fallen trees, leaves and debris on roads.
People in Galway and Mayo, where the more serious orange warning will be in effect on Sunday, are being warned about a risk of power outage to expected damage to power lines, and damage to already weakened structures.
