Only 1 in 10 of us are regularly sleeping through the night.
While most people believe they need 7 to 8 hours sleep each night, the average nightly sleep is just 6 hours 20 minutes.
A survey by DFS has found only 1 in 7 people fall asleep as soon as their head hits the pillow, while 31% admit to scrolling on their phones until they nod off.
People in Ireland are two and a half times more likely to check their phones than those in the UK.
The survey of 1,000 people in Ireland identified seven common types of sleeper, with more suffering sleep problems, than the lucky 'out like a light' tribe who can fall asleep within minutes.

Reading a book, fluffing up the pillows and drinking a glass of water before getting into bed are the top ways people wind down and get ready to sleep each night.
3% said they tried to count sheep, while 6% used on a hot water bottle.
Half of people say worrying about the next day prevents them from getting a good night's sleep.
