Online news is becoming more popular than television news here.
It's the first time online news has become more popular.
The report by Coimisiún na Meán found 88% of Irish consumers are extremely, very, or somewhat interested in what's happening in the world.
The Annual Digital News Report also found over a quarter of 18 to 24 years are olds are paying for their news.

71% said they were concerned about identifying real news from fake news, up 7% from the previous year.
Rónán Ó Domhnaill, Media Development Commissioner with Coimisiún na Meán, says consumers are relying more on online sources.
" It shows a shift in behavior for people consuming the news.
"It's a gradual growth of people who access their news online. It's a natural development.
"I think it's the way society is going, the way news consumption is going".
