A man has failed in his a desperate attempt to go to court and prove he's not dead.
Donald Miller was declared dead in 1994, eight years after he disappeared from his home in Ohio.
But Mr Miller is alive and well - and has gone to court to try and have his death certificate revoked.
However the judge said state law meant it was illegal to change a death certificate after three years had passed.
Mr Miller said he fled his home town because he was ashamed of his alcoholism.
His ex-wife opposed his court case, saying she couldn't afford to repay the social security payments she had received as a widow.
