The Executive Council of the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation is to meet tomorrow to discuss holding more strike dates, beyond the ones already announced.
On Wednesday, the first of a series of 24 hour strikes was held.
That saw 37,000 nurses and midwives take to the picket lines in a dispute over pay and conditions.
Nurses have already announced plans to hold further strikes on February 5th, 7th, 12th, 13th and 14th if the issue is not resolved.
The INMO says a meeting will take place tomorrow to discuss whether to hold additional strikes.
Nurses and midwives do not want to be on strike for one minute, let alone several days.
But sadly we have been forced into this position by a government which refuses to listen.
We are immensely grateful for all the public messages of support. Thank you! (2/2)— Irish Nurses & Midwives Organisation (@INMO_IRL) February 1, 2019
