Talks between nurses and the HSE ended last night without agreement.
They met to discuss the new contract which was proposed as part of last month's Labour Court ruling aimed at avoiding further strikes.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation says that the proposals don't fulfil the requirements of the Labour Court recommendation and that the new contract would make the recruitment and retention problems even worse.
INMO representatives will meet again today to discuss further steps.
