An 8 year study of expecting mothers at the Coombe Hospital has found the number of obese pregnant women jumped by 20 percent since the recession.
The study of 68-thousand mothers-to-be was carried out between 2010 and 2017 and states over half of obese pregnant women were over the age of 30.
The research also found average age of first time mothers rose to over 32 years old.
