The widespread easing of Ireland's Covid-19 restrictions is set to be recommended by NPHET today.
It's meeting this morning to assess how that should be done and when.
However a final decision on any plan will be made at Cabinet tomorrow, and an announcement's expected afterwards.
David Nabarro from the World Health Organisation says the Irish government should move with caution.
He's warned it's too early to say if they'll be another surge of the Omicron variant.
But the health expert noted that Ireland's drastic drop in cases "represents a peak and decline in Omicron".
"I cant tell you if omicron will occur with further surges in Ireland or elsewhere but I'm expecting it will."
Senior Ministers will meet tomorrow to discuss NPHET's recommendations.
