'Not Only Are We In Danger, We Are The Danger' - UN Warning As Global Temperatures Climb
The last 12 months were the hottest ever - globally.
Data released from the EU's climate change monitoring service shows last month was the hottest May in recorded history.
The head of the United Nations has called for a global ban on fossil fuel advertising - calling the industry the 'godfathers of climate chaos'.
Antonio Guterres used a speech in New York to liken the current crisis to the dinosaur extinction event:
"Our planet is trying to tell us something, but we don't seem to be listening.
"But like the meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs, in the case of climate, we are not the dinosaurs.
"We are the meteor.
"We are not only in danger.
"We are the danger."
