Irish people may get a chance to see the natural phenomenon known as the Northern Lights later tonight.
Due to an explosion on the sun ,which has directed its material towards the earth, the lights may be visible as far south as Ireland.
According to Astronomy Ireland it's been 2 years since the spectacle was last clearly visible over much of the country.
David Moore, Editor of their magazine, explains the best time to possibly see tonight's event is just after sunset, as soon as it gets dark.
