It's expected that there will be no time limit for outdoor dining but there will be for eating indoors when restrictions are eased further.
New guidelines for the reopening of the hospitality sector will be published later before a government announcement on Friday.
The Failte Ireland guidelines are expected to say that tables will have to be one metre apart for both indoor and outdoor dining.
Outdoor dining is resuming on the 7th of June with no confirmed date yet for indoor dining.
