The Tánaiste and Minister for Public Expenditure have warned members of the ASTI there will be no renegotiation of the Haddington Road Agreement.
The teaching union yesterday outlined plans for industrial action after its members rejected the deal on productivity and pay in the public service.
From next week, the ASTI's 17,000 members will refuse to hold meetings outside of school hours and they will not attend any training courses.
