No Irish Citizens To Get Out Of Gaza Again Today
The Department of Foreign Affairs says no Irish citizens will be leaving Gaza to Egypt today.
In a statement to Today FM News it said it's continuing to try to get these people included on the list to go through the Rafah Crossing in the coming days.
It says evacuations are managed on a "country-by-country" basis.
A spokesperson from the Department said, "there are an estimated 8000 foreign and dual nationals and immediate dependants in Gaza who are seeking to leave.
"The evacuations are being managed country by country on a phased basis. It will take some time for this process to be completed.
"Irish citizens are not included in today’s list, but we continue to urgently seek to have Irish citizens included on the list in the coming days.
"Our Embassies in Cairo and Tel Aviv are in regular communication with the authorities in Egypt and Israel.
"We also remain in ongoing communication with Irish citizens on the ground."
It's as the Israeli siege and bombardment of the Palestinian territory continues - with 20 people reportedly dead after a strike at a school-turned shelter for refugees.
