The north's Attorney General's to review the decision not to prosecute Gerry Adams over claims he withheld information about the abuse of his niece.
Last week, a court found the Sinn Fein president's brother Liam Adams guilty of sexually assaulting his daughter Aine.
There were calls for Gerry Adams to be prosecuted, after it emerged the Sinn Fein TD for Louth had previously confronted his brother about the abuse.
The PSNI recommended against that.
However now the Director of Public Prosecution's for northern Ireland has asked for the matter to be independently reviewed.
